BRAD LYNCHLead PastorBrad became the pastor of Southview in January of 2019 after pastoring churches in North and South Carolina. He received his bachelor’s degree from UNC-Wilmington and a master’s degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Brad’s wife, Marie, is a gifted writer and teacher. They have four children. Mabrie is a dancer and wants to join a professional ballet company one day. Jude enjoys athletics and wants to play in the NFL. Haddon loves music and science and can’t decide if he wants to be the next Mozart or Albert Einstein. And Charlotte “Lottie” literally wants to be a princess when she grows up. Brad enjoys running, reading and Clemson Tiger football but his favorite hobby is just spending time with his family. |
SCOTT CHATHAMPastor of WorshipScott has been a part of the Southview family since 2011 and brings to the ministry a true passion for worshipping Christ in Spirit and in Truth. Scott has over 25 years of experience in many areas of music, from recording to songwriting to playing live, but his greatest passion is Christ.
Married to his wife Heather for 21 years, they have four awesome children: Abigail, Sarah, Nathan and Joshua. In his spare time, Scott enjoys reading, writing music, and simply spending time with his family. |
STEVE ALDEAdult Discipleship PastorSteve began serving at Southview in the summer of 2013 bringing over 20 years of experience of childhood education in the church. Prior to coming to Southview, Steve was the children’s pastor in large churches in Dallas, TX and Fayetteville, NC, where he has ministered to thousands of children and their parents. Steve's focus and passion is to see families treasure the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel above all else.
Steve has a bachelor’s degree in psychology/counseling from Southwestern Assembly of God University and a master’s degree in biblical counseling from Clark Summit University. Steve enjoys spending time with his wife Sharlee, reading the Bible and books on Christian discipleship & theology, and being in nature. |
RYAN COLPITTSYouth PastorRyan became the student pastor of Southview in September of 2019 after serving at churches in North Carolina and Ohio. He received his bachelor's degree from the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary as well as his master's degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in student ministry for 10 years and has a passion to see students live their lives for Christ today.
Ryan's wife, Emily, loves to sing and bake. They have one child, Canaan, whose smile and laugh will brighten even the worst of days. |
KELLY PARSONSNursery CoordinatorKelly and her family came to Southview in 2008 and within a few weeks knew that this was where God meant for them to be. Never did she think that she would be called to the nursery ministry. Over the past four years, Kelly has been blessed by the children and their families that have come through the nursery classes. She hopes that, in some small way, she has been able to be a reflection of God's amazing love for each of them.
Rob and Kelly have been married for 18 years and their busy crew includes Jake, Will, Gracie, Sam, and Charlie. When she is not homeschooling their kids, Kelly loves to read, run, travel, and hang out with friends and family. |
BETTY JO MERRITTAdministrative SecretaryBetty Jo began her journey at Southview in November 2015. Betty Jo brings with her years of customer service and her true love of working with the public. Betty Jo and her husband Jeffery live in the Gray’s Creek area and have one daughter, Emily. Betty Jo loves the beach and fishing, and tries to spend as much time as she can with her family in Virginia.

KELSEY GRICEAssistant Admin. SecretaryKelsey was dedicated as a baby at Southview Baptist by her parents, Debby and Wayne Grice, and has been an active member since. She officially joined our staff in June 2019 after deciding to move back to her hometown of Hope Mills from Boone, NC, where she completed her undergraduate degree at Appalachian State University in 2014. She enjoys hiking, fishing, and reading in her spare time and feels blessed to share with her mother and grandmother the love of quilting.
