WELCOME TO SOUTHVIEW
We invite you to come as you are and allow us to join you in your journey to better understand who God is and His purpose and plan for your life. There is so much more to life than merely existing day to day to go to work or school, pay bills, and face the struggles and challenges that this world brings. We are invited by God to really LIVE!
Join us as we seek to live life to the fullest by knowing and following Jesus, the only true source of life. We are a church where people can know God personally, grow in knowledge and relationship with God and others, and go into the world to share the love and grace of God.
What kind of church is Southview?
We are a contemporary, Gospel-centered Southern Baptist church that values Christ above all things. We seek to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth and grow in Christ together through discipleship and biblical community. Our church is home to all ages and backgrounds. Our worship music includes everything from standard hymns (done in more modern arrangements) to songs currently being played on Christian radio and everything in between. We seek not to be defined by a particular style but rather by the Holy Spirit moving in us and through us. We strive to faithfully preach from God's Word while helping us to understand how to apply His truths to our daily lives. Our children, student, and adult ministries are focused on discipleship and building healthy relationships among families and community.
What does a Southview Worship service look like?
Our services begin at 9:30a.m. and 11a.m. on Sundays and consist of a time of singing, praying and studying scripture together. You are invited to participate as you feel comfortable. Our adult journey groups meet at both the 9:30am & 11am time frames. Our student and children's groups meet during the 9:30am service and then join us for corporate worship at 11am. Our services are designed specifically so that you have a chance to be involved in a journey group as well as attend a service.
You will experience engaging teaching from the Bible. We don’t water down Scripture, we humbly teach it with conviction and straightforward simplicity. So whether you’re just tearing the plastic wrap off your first Bible, or whether you’ve read it cover to cover, our desire for you is to grow and be challenged in your walk with God. Click here to listen to one of our Sunday morning messages.
How should I dress?
Come as you are. Some wear jeans and a t-shirt, others a pair of khakis, some suits, and some business casual; there really is no "dress code standard" here at Southview.
What about my children?
Your children will have a blast in our exciting kids’ programs designed just for them! When you arrive, our welcome team will help guide you to the right area for your child. Or if you prefer, you are welcome to keep your children with you in the main worship service.
What about my teenager?
Middle and high school students meet in smaller groups on Sunday mornings, called Journey Groups, at 9:30am in the student lounge. Our groups make time for study, prayer, and catching up with each other. At 11:00am, students are encouraged to attend corporate worship. If you wanted to check out an adult Journey Group at 11:00am, your student is more than welcome to sit with other students that attend worship together.
What about Children and Youth activities other than Sunday?
Yes! We are actively involved in supporting families in building and developing the hearts of young people to stand up and lead the next generation. We offer Sunday morning and Wednesday evening activities for children through high school students throughout the year as well as special events throughout the year. We know that finding a place for your child is important; check out our student and children's ministry pages to see more details. Also, feel free to contact our Children's Ministry Director or Student Minister with any questions you may have!
Will anyone single me out or embarrass me?
No. You won’t be asked to do anything that will make you feel uncomfortable. We’ll greet you warmly and help you find your way around. If you have any questions, a member of our First Impressions team will be happy to help. We want to keep in touch with you, so we invite you to fill out a guest connect card.
