Notes from the Search Team
2018 01 07
The search team tasked with finding our new Senior Pastor is now hard at work. The team has been formed and consists of the following people: Mark Morse (Team Chair), Sam Tart (Vice Chair), Scott Chatham, Steve Alde, Curtis Peeples, Phil Dean, Amanda Boyd and Mary Lou Dozier. At the kickoff meeting in December, the team met with Wes Tate, head of the Corporate Board. Wes explained the overall search process and reviewed the church by-laws as it relates to this task.
The next task before the team is to compose a current job description (already in progress) and establish a salary range. Once these two major pieces have been completed, they will be sent to the Admin team for approval and then on to the church for an approval vote as well. The team is scheduled to meet bi-weekly during this phase of the process.
In addition, a page will be created on the church website that will list the search team members as well as short bios of each. The page will also include the approved job description as well as have the capabilities for interested parties to submit their applications for consideration.
Please join us in praying for the search team during this crucial season for Southview Baptist Church. We are confident that God has great things planned for the church for years to come. Our job is simply to be obedient to Him.
