Available Growth Groups at SouthviewHere at Southview we believe that discipleship is more than a suggestion, rather it's a command (Matthew 28:19-20). In light of that command, we make it a point to provide believers with a multitude of opportunities to grow in knowledge of God, grow in relationship with fellow believers, and prepare followers of Christ to be effective tools for the kingdom. We fulfill this command through Journey Groups, Equip Classes, and several other ministries at Southview.

JOURNEY GROUPSA community of believers that grow in their knowledge of God with an emphasis of building long term relationships. Journey Groups meet on a weekly basis using a discussion-based learning format. You can join a Journey Group at any time.
They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. Acts 2:42–43 (NASB) EQUIP CLASSESShort term defined studies on a variety of biblical topics utilizing a lecture/discussion learning format. Equip classes are scheduled throughout the year. Some regular classes offered are: Journey Into God’s Word, Fundamentals of the Faith, and Evangelism. Please be on the lookout for our next round of classes.
EVERY MAN A WARRIORThe purpose of Every Man a Warrior is to help men succeed in life by discipling them to apply biblical principles to their daily lives, enabling them to grow spiritually and become the husbands, fathers, and men God intends them to be. Groups of men go through three books of curriculum (lasting about two years). New groups usually start once or twice a year. Look for announcements

WHY SMALL GROUPS?Do you have a hunger and thirst that only God can satisfy?
Do you want to experience and practically live out eternal life? Do you want to connect with other believers for the purpose of encouraging and being encouraged in your faith? Growth Groups are small groups of believers that have the purpose of fulfilling 2 Peter 3:18; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18 (NASB) Knowing God and Jesus Christ is eternal life (John 17:3). Jesus Christ is the source of life, who when truly known, satisfies our deepest soul hunger and quenches our spiritual thirst (John 6:35; Jer 2:13). Why small groups? Our faith is vulnerable to Satan, the world, and the flesh. God has established the church – the community of believers – to equip, build up, and encourage one another to grow in our knowledge and understanding of God. |
OUTREACHHere at Southview Baptist, we believe that a fundamental part of discipleship is outreach. While growing in knowledge is a vital part
